Every summer for the past two years Tom and I have taken a vacation to an island in the Caribbean for a week. Last year we went to Punta Cana and the year before that we went to Aruba. (When I first typed that sentence I wrote ‘for the past three years’ but couldn’t remember for the life of me if we went anywhere after graduating in 2011 so… let’s just say two.) I have a really bad memory and it’s a problem.
Anyway, we decided this year that we were going to save money and not fly anywhere this summer (besides the trip to Florida we’re taking with my family in September). We both have hit that point at work where we’re dying to just be on a beach somewhere relaxing. His birthday is on Sunday so I decided to surprise him by booking a long weekend trip to Montauk. I booked the hotel last night and put together my own brochure for our trip to give him on his birthday (since our trip is about a month or so away and I want to have something to ‘wrap’). Below is a screenshot of the brochure (hotel, restaurant, event names have been removed or changed). I will do a review of the hotel and restaurants after our trip. I’M SO EXCITED and I can’t wait to tell him about it
I’m ready for some beach, music, wineries and paddle boarding!
Rundown on my food/fitness for today: After feeling crummy yesterday I decided to sleep in and skip my workout today. I’ll be back at it tomorrow. I had a repeat of yesterday’s breakfast and for lunch I had a salad with garbanzo beans, peas, shredded carrots, yellow peppers, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, sunflower seeds and italian dressing. It was a good one.
Now I have some work to finish while I wait for the clock to hit 6. I’m going to the Ranger’s game with my brother and a few friends. We’re grabbing dinner and drinks before the game near MSG and then it’s game time. If the Ranger’s win they’re headed to the cup! 6 o’clock can’t come soon enough.
