Wooo! It’s Friday! I could not be more ready for the weekend. Tom and I have plans to go to dinner tonight and then we’ll be catching up on American Horror Story and How to Get Away with Murder (I just realized how dismal that sounds). I’m looking forward to a night in that may or may not include some wine.

Guys, I have a problem. I started listening to this podcast yesterday after hearing so many things about it and I.am.hooked. The podcast follows the story of Adnan Syed who was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend Hae Lee in 1999. Here’s the description of Serial from iTunes:
Serial is a new podcast from the creators of This American Life, hosted by Sarah Koenig. Serial unfolds one story – a true story – over the course of a whole season. The show follows the plot and characters wherever they lead, through many surprising twists and turns. Sarah won’t know what happens at the end of the story until she gets there, not long before you get there with her. Each week she’ll bring you the latest chapter.
I started episode 1 yesterday and am now on episode 8 (there’s currently 9 episodes, episode 10 comes out December 4th). The episodes are each 35-45 minutes long. I have essentially spent the majority of my time awake in the last 24 hours listening to this podcast. Granted half the episodes were listened to while doing cardio, commuting to work yesterday and today and walking during my lunch but still. Hooked.
On a lighter note, this dinner from last night was so good. I’ll give the recipe next week!
My goal is to be able to run next summer without any IT band pain. I’ve been dealing with this injury for years and after getting certified as a personal trainer I truly realized the importance of foam rolling.

Since I workout in the morning I always seem to be rushing so I can get to work on time. This means I don’t always foam roll before stretching (note: you should always foam roll before stretching, not after). I’m trying to work on this and am making it a new goal to foam roll at least 5 minutes after my workout!
Red Checkered Pants
I am loving my new pants from Forever21. I can’t believe they were so cheap. There was only one pair in the sale section and it happened to be my size — fate!
I wore a regular scarf the other day and I can’t tell you how many times I became frustrated trying to get it to stay around my neck when I was walking. Does this ever happen to anyone else? Every 2 seconds I would notice it unraveling. This is why infinity scarves are amazing. You don’t have to futz around with them.
I went to Trader Joe’s this week to pick up a bunch of items and was amazed by how cheap it was compared to my regular grocery haul. It’s cheaper than Fresh Direct and Kings (that’s a given, that store is expensive) and has so many delicious, healthy items! I think I’ll be making this a weekly trip.
